Painted, and thanks. I found it while mowing the yard one day, and we decided to keep him. Quiet and low maintenance, so a great pet.

You probably know that eventually those guys require a huge turtle tank to keep them happy?

Yeah, he’s young now and have been in the process of moving. We will get him one once we get settled.

My friend had a yellow-bellied slider turtle that had a dinner plate sized shell. Very fun little fellow that liked to have some head and neck scratching.
It had around 400 liter tank. Once the turtle managed to dislodge the water treatment pump which caused half of the water to exit the tank to his apartment’s floor. Luckily he had a home insurance to over the damages.

This little guy is only supposed to be 4-6 inches nose to tail.

That’s quite small in turtle standards. Those sure are cute things.

It was sad but cute during transport, he was like a bobble head.

Nice! I always wanted an Eastern Painted turtle. I had 5 red-earled sliders, 1 Ouachita map turtle, and a Florida Soft-shell (not sure on the exact species). They are great pets, but the water maintenance was just too much after a few years =/
